Photography style: Hobbyist Photographer
My full name is Brian Quentin Webb, born and raised in the Greater Los Angeles area. I moved to Taiwan on Christmas Day 1999 and have lived in Taipei ever since. I’m interested in street photography on the medium of black & white film. I’m primarily a hobbyist photographer. I’ve been “shooting street” since I was 12, 23 years.
Professionally, I occasionally take portraiture commissions (go to http://bqw.deviantart.com/gallery and click on the “portraits” option on the left for recent examples) and primarily use a 67 year-old large format camera for that work. I love the handcrafted nature and unequaled quality of it. I have also done some stringer work for a couple of US mid western papers during the 2004 Taiwan presidential election cycle. On the “interwebs” I co-founded with a Malaysian friend PhotoMalaysia.com, which over the last 6 years has grown to be the largest photo-related online community in and is heavily involved with social issues in that country. I’m also the current gallery director for the street photography gallery at deviatArt.com.
